The "RiverWalk Plan"
The Riverwalk Plan is forward-thinking, community and Developer oriented. It helps connect the San
Fernando Valley and The City of Los Angeles in a green and sustainable way that would be lost forever
under the current development plan. The Riverwalk Plan also eliminates the need for "phasing" which would
more growth and jobs to the City in a shorter period of time. The Riverwalk Plan offers the Developer 70% of
what they are asking for, but in a more intelligent way, which benefits EVERYONE!
Communities United for SMART Growth is promoting the Riverwalk Plan as a viable alternative development
plan for the MTA site. This plan was submitted in the response to the MTA D.E.I.R. Under law, it must be
considered by the City as a viable alternative to what has been proposed y the Developers. This plan has
critical elements to the future transportation and living space needs of the City of Los Angeles. Chief among
them are preserving and enhancing the artery system that is Los Angeles River and putting homes DIRECTLY
on top of Public Transportation, instead of a mile and 1/2 away as proposed by NBC/Universal. This plan is
being strongly supported by the community and by the various groups that have seen it. See it for yourself!!
